Letter from the new Coaching Coordinator
by posted 05/23/2013

Dear USSA-DUFC Parents,

I wanted to share with you the club's current status and inform you of some recent events. First, USSA-DUFC will not be merging with the Chicago Fire Juniors South. As some of you know Jose Smith USSA-DUFC's former Coaching Coordinator has resigned his position as Coaching Coordinator and has informed the board that he will be leaving the club at the conclusion of the Spring Season. As a result, many have wondered what would become of his responsibilities and especially the 5 teams in which he provided specific oversight; two u 8 teams, u 9 girls team, u 10 boys team. He also provided some leadership for our U 11 boys’ team and U 12 and U13 teams. His departure from the club is a difficult one for the club, kids and families. I wanted to inform all of you that I have decided take on the role of Coaching Coordinator/ Director of Coaching for the remainder of this Spring and into the new season. I love USSA-DUFC and think our area needs a local club that will provide quality training without the huge price tag. If you are curious what my qualifications are to fulfill this duty please feel free to look at my bio on our club websitehttp://www.ussa-dufc.com/Page.asp?n=40770&snid=dMICY4E%3FW&org=ussa-dufc.com
The purpose of this letter however is not to discuss my qualifications, but rather to inform you that all other staff coaches intend to remain with the club for the fall and I have recruited coaching staff to fill any other coaching needs. I will assume the duties of Coaching Coordinator making sure our staff coaches have training plans when needed, have opportunities for coaching development through licensing and most importantly that our kids improve in their skill while learning to love the game of soccer. Below is the list of coaches who have agreed to coach the particular age groups for the fall.
current u 8 select will be u 9 in fall team- Todd Cann (current staff coach)
current u 8 premier will be u 9 in fall team- Brandon Eylander (new staff coach, recent Olivet graduate with degree in elementary physical education degree played 4 years college soccer and extensive club experience)
current u 9 girls IWSL team- Bill Bahr (new coach)
current u 10 girls IWSL team- Bill Bahr (current coach)
current u 10 select team- Grant Ashby (current staff coach)
current u 11 boys select team- Jerome Phillip (current staff coach)
current u 12 Select team- Josh Pasanka (current coach)
current u 13 Select teams- Josh Pasanka (current coach)
current u 14 boys team- Mike Barclay (current coach)
current u 13 girls team- Mike Barclay (current coach)
High School girls premier team- Janel Schmitt (new staff coach, Graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in early childhood development 4 year collegiate player First Team NAIA All American)
High School girls Elite team- Joshua Macharia (current coach)
Keeper Training- Kenny Huber- Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Olivet Nazarene University.
As you can see our club will continue to have an outstanding staff of coaches developing our kids.

Also I am pleased to say that USSA-DUFC has also filled a couple of board positions recently:
Mike Barclay will be overseeing Marketing position
Denise Eisha will be overseeing Fundraising position
For other board member positions again please see our website http://www.ussa-dufc.com/Contacts.asp?snid=dMICY4E%3FW&org=ussa-dufc.com

All of our board meetings are open to the public. Our next meeting is scheduled for June 20th in Manteno at the Leo Haslet Community Center at 7:30 p.m. If you have any questions please contact Amanda Langlois

C: 815-530-4811 in order to be added to the meeting minutes or you can simply come and observe.

Finally, I wanted to let you all know that USSA-DUFC Tryouts will be held the week of June 3-7 at Dynamo Fields. The tryouts will be held on the day and time of your regularly schedule practice with the only difference being its location, Dynamo fields located off of Bethel drive in Bourbonnais. All the coaches have already been notified of this change. The tryouts will be run like a normal practice with a couple of differences. All kids in attendance will be evaluated by one of our staff coaches and at the end of the second day of tryouts will be given individualized feedback. Parents will also be able to meet their coach for the fall and ask questions of them and of the board members present. You will also be able to pick registration forms for the fall season and register at the time if you like. It is important to understand that USSA-DUFC will need to have all registrations in with $75 down payments by the end of June.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU AND YOUR CHILD TO PERHAPS INVITE SOMEONE WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN TAKING THIER SOCCER SKILLS TO THE NEXT LEVEL TO THESE TRYOUTS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY FREE FOR ANY CHILD INTERESTED IN GETTING BETTER IN SOCCER TO ATTEND AND THERE IS NO COMMITTMENT REQUIRED. WE THINK THEY WILL HAVE A GREAT TIME AND WANT TO BE A PART! SO HAVE YOUR CHILD BRING A FRIEND!

Sincerely,
Bill Bahr
